A Day in the Life

What your typical workday looks like

Your day starts early, often before the sun is up, as you head to the hospital for a scheduled surgery. After reviewing the patient's case and prepping your equipment, you'll enter the operating room and work closely with the surgical team. As the surgery begins and the heart-lung machine is activated, you'll be constantly monitoring vital signs, adjusting settings, and making critical decisions to support the patient's life. It's an intense, focused period, and once the surgery is complete and the patient's heart is beating on its own again, you'll carefully wean them off the machine.
